Antique Turquoise Pave Domed Brooch
This antique turquoise brooch has a lovely domed shape, and beautiful natural variation of colour in the turquoise cabochons.
When I found this brooch it was missing a few turquoise cabochons, which I’ve replaced with close matches. Some of the turquoise have chips and light wear, but because of the pave style of the brooch, I don’t think this is obvious when worn. There’s some tarnishing and scuffing to the gold and some dents to the back of the brooch around the edge, but these are mainly visible from the back. The pin wiggles a bit, but closes securely on the catch.
The top of the brooch is silver which is set on a 9ct gold backing plate (marked BACK 9ct). The clasp of the brooch is 9ct gold, but the pin is base metal.
Measures approx 23mm across and with a rise of just over 8mm at the highest point. Weighs approx 4.8g.
