Antique Pearl and Old Cut Diamond Pendant
This was bar brooch that I’ve converted to a pendant with a hidden bale - and isn’t it just a delight! The pearls have the most gorgeous silvery lustre, and the mismatched diamonds! This piece is completely one of a kind.
I’d say the bar brooch dated to around 1920, and I’ve updated it with a new 9ct gold bale, which is totally hidden when worn.
The champagne diamond is an old mine cut, and the white diamond is an old European cut. They’re set in silver topped bezels, with the champagne diamond slightly larger than the white diamond.
There is a significant chip to the champagne diamond, but I don’t think this is obvious when worn. There’s some tarnishing, mainly the back of the pendant around the settings. There’s some surface wear to the pearls and they’re slightly uneven in size. There’s some wear and scratches to the gold, with the most obvious on one side of the pendant. I’d still say it’s in great shape and definitely ready to wear!
9ct rosey gold (unmarked but tested)
Measures approx 34mm long. The pearls together measure approx 12mm long, and from diamond to diamond approx 11mm.
