Made to Order: Solid Gold Greek Coin Pendant
Please note this pendant is made to order, and can be customised with your choice of gold! Your custom pendant will take 6 - 8 weeks to make before it’s posted out to you.
Cast in solid gold from a genuine Ancient Greek coin, this mini pendant is the perfect mix of ancient and modern!
The original coin (which I’ve included in some of the pics!), was minted in Cyzicus, Mysia (in modern day Turkey), and features an amphora on one side and the head of the god Apollo on the other. The coin is one of the oldest I’ve been lucky enough to find, dating from around 400 - 350 BC - that’s between 2,373 and 2,423 years old!
The side with Apollo is quite worn, and sits sideways on the back of the pendant. The front of the pendant with the amphora is lovely and clear - and just so charming!
Because of the small size of the coin, this would be a great addition to a charm bracelet too.
Measures approx 17mm long and 10mm wide (at the widest point). Weighs approx 1.2g.
