Engraved Victorian Silver Shilling
This beautiful coin was first minted in 1889 (135 years ago!), and was later engraved with the date Aug 7, 1909. I wonder what that date commemorated?
The other side of the coin is Queen Victoria, but the details of her face and veil are quite worn.
The engraving has been beautifully done and is still crisp, although some of the details of the coin are worn with age. There is some scratching and surface wear to the coin, but this is what I’d expect for a 135 year old coin!
925 silver (unmarked but tested to confirm)
Measures approx 23.5mm across (excluding bale). Weighs 5.4g
Free fully insured international postage
