Antique Bloodstone Locket in 18ct Gold
I’ve never seen a pendant quite like this before! This late Victorian piece is double sided, with lovely slabs of bloodstone set on each side - but that’s not all! This is a locket, which opens to reveal a hidden compartment. The beautiful twisted gold border expertly hides the hinge and clasp, so the locket is a nice surprise!
Inside the locket there’s glass on just one side, which is sitting a bit crookedly, with hair underneath it. This would have originally been a sweet reminder of a loved one, but the hair has been damaged with age.
The locket opens easily and closes securely. There’s some minor surface scratching and wear to the locket, commensurate with age and wear and some deeper scratches to the 9ct gold bale. The inner edges of the locket are a bit dented, with some scratches and slightly bent out of shape. Overall the locket is in great condition and ready to wear!
18ct gold (French eagles head hallmark for 18ct gold). The jump ring bale is a later addition and tests as 9ct gold (unmarked). If you’d like the bale replaced with an 18ct gold version, please DM me for a quote.
Measures approx 21mm long (excluding bale), 16.5mm wide and 7.5mm thick. Weighs approx 3.7g
Free fully insured international postage
Please note the chain is not included but is available here
