Made to Order: Solid Gold Ancient Greek Coin with Gemstone
Please note this pendant is made to order, and can be customised with your choice of gold! Your custom pendant will take 6 - 8 weeks to make before it’s posted out to you.
This pendant is made of a solid gold casting of a genuine Ancient Greek coin, which I’ve turned into a pendant. The perfect mix of ancient and modern!
The original coin was minted in Cyzicus, Mysia (in modern day Turkey), and features an amphora on one side and the head of the god Apollo on the other. The coin is one of the oldest I’ve been lucky enough to find, dating from around 400 - 350 BC - that’s between 2,373 and 2,423 years old!
The side with Apollo is quite worn, and sits sideways on the back of the pendant. The front of the pendant with the amphora is lovely and clear - and just so charming!
Available in your choice of 9ct or 18ct yellow, white or rose gold and your choice of gemstone. The pendant in the photos is 18ct yellow gold, and is set with a rose cut diamond. All gem options other than the diamond are round brilliant cuts, not rose cuts.
Measures approx 21mm long and 10mm across at the widest point. Weighs approx 1.6g.
