Antique Belcher Set Sapphire Charm
This beautiful natural blue sapphire, along with its belcher setting, was originally part of a larger antique piece of jewellery - but doesn’t it make such a sweet charm? The original piece of jewellery was long gone when I found this sapphire (and 4 others like it!), so I’ve added a simple 9ct gold bale so it can be worn as a charm.
The sapphire is an old cut, and is slightly egg shaped, with loads of slightly wonky antique charm. There are a few small surface chips and scratches, and a larger chip to the side of the stone, but this isn’t obvious when worn. The original Victorian belcher setting does have some light wear, and there’s a messy solder join where a jump ring has been added, but this is at the back and can’t be seen when worn.
14ct gold, with a new 9ct gold bale (unmarked but tested to confirm)
Measures approx 15mm long (including bale), with the setting measuring approx 6mm by 6.5mm.
Weighs approx 0.6g.
