Antique Cameo of Napoleon Ring in 9ct Gold
This cameo is just so beautifully carved - and so unusual! I don’t often see carved agate cameos like this, especially of such a recognisable figure. Our gentleman immortalised in this wonderful cameo is Napoleon, wearing a laurel wreath in the style of a Roman emperor. The agate has been expertly carved to cleverly use the variation of colours in the design - and the effect is really something special!
There are a few fine cracks in the cameo, but these don’t that affect wearability. Otherwise the cameo is in great condition with little wear. The gold setting is in great shape, but does have some scratching and wear commensurate with age. Overall the ring is ready to wear!
9ct gold (marked 9ct inside the band and tested to confirm). There is a makers mark for WJH - this could be for William Holmes, who worked in Birmingham, UK, but there are not complete English hallmarks on the ring so I’m not certain!
Size O / US 7 1/4 (the ring is slightly out of round). The ring can be resized, please message me for a quote if you’d like me to resize it for you.
